Grow your own edible and medicinal phoenix oyster mushrooms with liquid culture syringes!
Pleurotus pulmonarius, more commonly known as the phoenix oyster mushroom, grows in subtropical forests throughout the world. It is very similar to Pleurotus ostreatus except it is smaller. This mushroom is great for mycoremediation as it has shown an ability to break down herbicides as well as converting conifer mulch into soil.
The phoenix oyster mushroom grows in clusters on hardwoods or conifers and causes white rot. It has a diameter of 5 to 20 cm and grows in a fan-like shape. It was a grey/white to lilac grey color and its taste is slightly sweet with a velvety texture. It likes higher temperatures than pleurotus ostreatus which makes it a great mushroom to grow during the summer months. It can be cultivated on pasteurized agricultural waste, such as straw or cotton. It will grow on conifer wood but hardwood will result in bigger mushrooms.
OutGrow® is proud to present a full line of edible and medicinal mushroom cultures. Economically priced so that everyone can enjoy the wonderful hobby and benefits of mushroom cultivation. Our cultures are made by experts and are 100% clean and viable.
