Shiitake 75 (Lentinus edodes) Mycelium Liquid Culture Syringe

Detailed Description:

Introducing our 12cc Shiitake 75 (Lentinus edodes) Mycelium Liquid Culture Syringe, an ideal choice for beginners and hobby-growers looking to delve into the world of mushroom cultivation. Shiitake 75 is a forgiving and versatile strain that produces consistent results, even under less-than-perfect growing conditions and substrates.

This particular strain is celebrated for its resilience and adaptability. It reliably produces medium-sized fruiting bodies and is known for its flexibility in terms of cultivation substrates. While it thrives best on wood substrates, yielding a more abundant harvest, Shiitake 75 can also be cultivated on straw, albeit with a smaller yield.

One of the most appealing aspects of the Shiitake 75 strain is its wide fruiting temperature range. It can fruit in temperatures from 10 to 24°C (50 to 75°F), making it suitable for various climates and indoor conditions. However, it's worth noting that at lower temperatures, the maturation of the fruit bodies may take a bit longer.

Our liquid culture syringe contains high-quality, viable mycelium, ready to inoculate your chosen substrate. For best results, store the syringe in a cool, dark place before use, and ensure that you maintain the appropriate environmental conditions for your growing setup.

Shiitake 75 (Lentinus edodes) Overview:

Shiitake 75 (Lentinula edodes) is a specific strain of Shiitake mushroom that is recognized for its suitability for beginners and hobbyist growers. This particular strain offers several characteristics that make it a favorable choice for those new to mushroom cultivation or those who do not have optimal growing conditions.

Characteristics of Shiitake 75

User-Friendly for Beginners: Shiitake 75 is known for its resilience and ability to produce good results even if the growing conditions and substrate are not fully optimized. This makes it an excellent choice for those who are just starting out with mushroom cultivation.

Medium-Sized Fruiting Bodies: The mushrooms produced by this strain are typically medium in size, which is generally manageable and desirable for personal or small-scale cultivation.

Substrate Versatility:

Wood Substrates: While it can grow on various substrates, Shiitake 75 yields better results when cultivated on wood substrates, such as logs or sawdust blocks, which are more traditional and natural for Shiitake cultivation.

Straw Substrates: It can also be cultivated on straw, but the yield is usually smaller compared to wood-based substrates. This flexibility, however, is beneficial for growers who might have easier access to straw.

Temperature Range:

Shiitake 75 can fruit in a temperature range between 10 to 24 °C (50 to 75.2 °F), making it adaptable to various climates and seasons.
It's important to note that at lower temperatures, the ripening of the fruit bodies may take a few days longer. This is typical as fungal metabolism slows down in cooler conditions.

Growth and Harvesting:

The strain's adaptability to less-than-ideal conditions and various substrates can lead to a more forgiving and successful cultivation experience for hobby growers.
The duration of the growth cycle and the time to harvest can vary based on environmental factors and the chosen substrate.

Cultivation Tips for Shiitake 75

Moisture and Humidity: Maintaining appropriate moisture levels is crucial, especially when growing on wood substrates.

Light and Air Flow: While Shiitake mushrooms do not require much light for growth, some indirect light and good air circulation are beneficial.

Patience: Given the slower growth at lower temperatures, patience is key. Allowing the mushrooms to develop fully ensures a better quality and size of the fruiting bodies.

Shiitake 75 (Lentinus edodes) Taxonomy:

  1. Kingdom: Fungi
  2. Phylum: Basidiomycota
  3. Class: Agaricomycetes
  4. Order: Agaricales
  5. Family: Marasmiaceae
  6. Genus: Lentinula
  7. Species: Lentinula edodes

In summary, Shiitake 75 is an excellent strain for those new to mushroom cultivation or doing it as a hobby. Its adaptability to a range of temperatures and substrates, along with its tolerance for less-than-perfect conditions, makes it a practical and rewarding choice for beginners.

I have been growing professionally for over 5 years. This Shiitake 75 LC from Out Grow has exceeded all expectations! I rate my spawn grows on many factors, this strains LC has shown 2 superior qualities in just 1 week post inoculation. Both the speed and the spread of this strain are impressive. Full colonization of 3/4# of grain using only 4cc of the LC was achieved by day 6. I anticipate heavy colonization to take an additional week or 2. I have NOT run this thru to fruiting blocks yet.
